In 1972 the Sisters Oblates to the Blessed Trinity opened a Pre-Kindergarten program on Pells Road, Hopewell Junction, to help the young children of Dutchess County in their spiritual, intellectual, physical and emotional development. The overwhelming growth and success of the School were evident by the ever increasing number of students which led to the opening of a Kindergarten program in 1982 and a Nursery program in 1990. For many years the Sisters have been providing professional care and early childhood education to children, ages 2-5, regardless of race, religion or ethnicity. St. Aloysius Happy House curriculum is based on the Common Core and the NYS Pre-Kindergarten Learning Standards.
To promote in the children an awareness of the presence of Christ in the world and the ability to see the magnificence of God through a body of knowledge.
To build a Christian community through love and service of one another beginning in the classroom and extending into the world.
To prepare the children to live with everyone in the world regardless of race, color, or creed as responsible Christians who are witnesses to Christ.
The primary goal of St. Aloysius Happy House is to provide learning experiences which most effectively inculcate worthwhile attitudes and impart the knowledge and skills necessary for the spiritual, intellectual, emotional and physical development of the student. The children learn the basic skills needed so that they can be ready for the studies that are to follow. Included in the curriculum are: Religion, Math, Reading, Phonics, Writing, Science, Social Studies, Spanish, Health, Music, Art and Physical Education. We offer Nursery, Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten classes. For more information, view our Parent-Student Handbook on the School Page.
